Yay for ultrasounds

July 4, 2008 at 3:52 pm (Uncategorized)

I finally got my long awaited ultrasound last night and thankfully everything went well and the baby is doing fine in there! There is only ONE baby which is immensely relieving to me, I was so afraid it would be twins! The baby measured a little ahead of what I thought, 12 weeks 6 days, which means I’m exactly 13 weeks today. The heartbeat was 172 BPM and there was plenty of amniotic fluid. In fact the baby already has a cute fat little tummy from swallowing it, which I thought was adorable!

Such a relief to see the baby and know that everything is okay. Now we only have to wait another 8-10 weeks for the “BIG ultrasound” because they like to do them at 22 weeks around here (how annoying).

Annoying Etiquette Teachers

July 1, 2008 at 5:01 am (Uncategorized)

I am sitting here watching Trading Spouses, and for some reason one of the families has an etiquette teacher as a friend that comes over to eat dinner with them and I guess make sure that they have good manners. They bragged about her and said that she knows all these diplomats and whatever…seriously though, who the fuck cares!? It turns out that in this episode the families are both in the San Fransisco Bay area, so the other family is forced to put up with the woman teaching them which plate is for what course like they are a bunch of five year olds. Thankfully the new family is British and they are really cool so now they’re using a remote controlled fart machine at the table and shocking the hell out of the etiquette lady. I think the mom is going to have an aneurysm or something. Ok, that’s my TV watching story for the evening.

What else have I done today? This morning I had a chiropractor appointment which was awesome, and then I had to go get my blood drawn because I’m having an ultrasound on Thursday and apparently they need a quantitative HCG test for that. I think they should have done that in the first place but of course military hospitals are awesome. In any case I really hate getting my blood drawn because the front desk lady is an absolute moron! She’s this really old bitchy lady and she always wears these African mumu type dresses, and really crazy hats. It is not cute. Did I mention she’s a bitch? I could absolutely feel my blood pressure rising, and I wanted to punch her in the face. Okay, I know I have anger issues but I was complaining about her to Beth and she seemed to agree that the woman is annoying and generally incompetent.

I slept most of the day, dreaming of beef stroganoff, which was interesting. Then it was time to go to Beth and Adam’s house for dinner, which brings us to the “cute Aden picture of the day”. For some odd reason she got into Lance’s bouncer seat (which he doesn’t use anymore) and she was really enjoying herself! It was really funny, here’s a picture of the cutest little girl ever:

Woke up, made the stroganoff I had been dreaming of, along with some green bean casserole and here I am!

Princess couch

June 30, 2008 at 6:24 am (Uncategorized)

So the other day I went to pick Aden up from daycare, and they had this Disney Princess chair for little kids, and Aden was just SO excited about it! I decided to get her one at Wal Mart this weekend and surprise her when she came home from her dad’s house, and I ended up getting the “couch” model instead of the chair because their selection was not that great. Well I forgot it in the trunk of Jeremy’s car, so I asked him to get it out, and I walked outside holding Aden. As soon as he pulled it out of the trunk her eyes got really big and she pointed at it and said “WOOOOOAAAAH!” I just started laughing, I could not believe she said that! At this point we’re not sure if she’s 17 months old or 5 years old…

She loves this couch though, she was sitting on and off all night until I put her to bed, she thought it was the coolest thing ever! I do have a picture, and it’s kind of crappy because it was taken with my cell phone but it will have to do. My camera is still out of commission, I am still experiencing battery issues at this time. In any case you can still see the joy on her face. Oh, and the green thing sitting next to her is her dinosaur that we got her at Build a Bear. It has little pink croc (shoes) and it roars.

Trying out the blogging thing

June 30, 2008 at 6:03 am (Uncategorized)

I used to journal, I have several books full of writing….I guess I’m just not there anymore. But I figure if I’m on the computer all the time I should be able to log on and blog instead of actually writing it down right?

It is now 2 AM and I am bored. I hate working mids, I hate how much it messes up my life, and Aden’s life. At this point I obviously cannot trust her father so I feel really terrible leaving her with him. I suppose if I had known how crappy my life would become upon joining the Marines I would have thought twice about it. It does suck to be an impulse decision maker, especially when you have to pay for said decision for the next 5 years.

I don’t want this to be one of those melodramatic, horrible blogs that so many of us accidentally read when stumbling across annoying people’s myspace pages. I’ll really try to keep the drama to a minimum, but when your luck is as bad as mine that is really hard to do.

On to happier things….
